Yup, I'm a freak.

Today is Father's Day, and I'll be the first to shout from the rooftops that I love my Daddy! Being the youngest of seven and having an often extremely overactive imagination, I got a bit carried away this evening in my search for my Father. In the end, after Dad was safe and accounted for, he just laughed and said what a wonderful Father's Day present this was to him. Now, I bet you're wondering what happened, huh? Here goes...

I told my Mom that I'd be visiting later in the afternoon with Kirsten. Well, I ended up taking a late nap on the couch, woke up at around 5:30, and gave my parents a call to say I was on my way. No answer. No answer on Mom's cell. Hmmm. I call my brother Paul, thinking he might've seen them or maybe he's with them. Nope. He saw them earlier in the day & even mentioned how Dad wasn't feeling well, but he didn't know where they were now. Okay, try another sibling. I called Val, knowing she was going to visit. Nope, she didn't get ahold of them either. Hmmm! Now my curiosity is sparking! And, knowing me, this is when a bit of concern started in. I decide to play detective now. I pack up Kirsten & drive over to my parents' home. No car in the driveway, no one home. I call Gary's house & talk with Emily. She doesn't know either. I call Steve's place & talk with Laura. She has no info for me. While talking with her, Steve beeps thru to her, and she reports back to me that he doesn't know. Okay, at this point I'm worrying. Maybe the dark clouds looming over me with impending rain is adding to my emotions... I'm weird like that. I proceed to get gas in the car, pick up tacos for us, and realize I need to go back to check their home again. I forgot to knock & ring the doorbell. Maybe Dad was sleeping & Mom was just away. Nope, no answer with that. I head home, and Kirsten & I have to run from the car as we get nailed with rain. At this point I've even called them a few more times, just in case, but no answer. I cave in to my original thought & call the local hospitals, giving both of my parents names and checking admitting and the ERs. Yes, I called there. Thankfully, they weren't there. Finally, after talking with Paul & Val one more time (they must think I'm just a nutty little sister!), Mom beeped thru. They went out to dinner & Mom's cell just wasn't working right! Aaaaaghhhh!!!!!

Dad said he'll be sure to call me when they die, just so I don't freak out like this again! LOL Anyway, by this time it was nearing 7:30 & too late for me to go visit. I'll have to make a plan for sometime soon to spend time with my Dad. He really is the best Dad I could've imagined to be blessed with.
